My Review
My Ranking: ★★ (2 stars)
A disgusting story
This book initially drew me in with its portrayal of a main character who seemed like a relatable underdog, searching for love amidst his misfortunes. However, as the story progressed, it became evident that this character was not just down on his luck but rather a disturbing psychopath, revealing unsettling traits that made me increasingly uncomfortable.
The narrative took a particularly off-putting turn with its graphic descriptions of fast food, which I found so revolting that I had to skip those sections entirely. Despite pushing through these elements, it introduced a romantic match for the protagonist who was thought to be a redeeming person in the book but was equally disturbed.
Overall, the book delivers a gross experience, leaving a lingering sense of distaste. An extreme horror for sure!
